Raheen Vintage Club in preparation for the big day in July
The Raheen Vintage Club is in the final stages of preparation for its upcoming Vintage Rally which this year will support the Kolbe School and other local charities.
The club's Chairman Chris Doogue explains more.
“We are a local group who seek to use our passion for vintage cars and tractors to raise funds and promote vital causes in our local community.
“Last year we raised €10,000 through various events we held throughout the year, with Irish Motor Neurons and the Midlands Down Syndrome Centre Portlaoise receiving a total amount of €5,000 each”, he says.
Mr Goode says the flagship event is the Annual Vintage Rally which will be held on Sunday, July 9 in Corbally, Abbeyleix.
“It is a day filled with fun for all the family including vintage car and tractor displays, an autojumble, country markets, vintage thrashing, basket making, a wheel of fortune, archery, music and entertainment, and lots more. There will be a dog show on the day in association with The Haven Animal Rescue.
“This year's event is set to be our biggest yet with proceeds raised in aid of the Kolbe Special School Portlaoise as well as other local charities,” said the chairman. MORE BELOW PICTURE.
