Tickets have gone on sale for one of the best summer days out in Laois, the open day at Abbeyleix House and Farm.

Owned by Stripe billionaire founder John Collison, the gates of the beautiful 1,000 acre estate will be flung open to the public on Sunday, June 23 for a charity fundraising day of entertainment, food, activity, heritage and nature.

The day starts with an invigorating 10K Trail run through the ancient Oak Woodlands. Registration (prepaid online, see link below) is from 9am, and the run starts at 10.30am.

Gates for the family day open at 11.30am, beginning at 12 noon, with craft vendors lining the beautiful Stable Yard, ready to delight with their wonderful creations, and a variety of activities to delight through the day.

There will be train rides and face painters for the big & little kids.

A spectacular Air Show of daring skills and loop the loops will take place throughout the afternoon above the heads of spectators.

Visitors can explore the stunningly maintained Walled Gardens, stroll by the river, and breathe the country air.

All shows, activities, games and sites are included in the ticket price.

Food, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase from specially selected vendors throughout the grounds.

Best of all, 100% of all ticket sales, vendor fees and sales from the Abbeyleix House and Farm Kitchen Pantry go directly to charity.

This year, their chosen charities are Abbeyleix and District Lions Club, Laois Offaly Families for Autism (LOFFA) and the Order of Malta for Ambulance Equipment.

"With your continued support, we can make this another sold-out event; tickets are limited, so grab yours now. There will be no tickets available on the day," the organisers say.

They have organised buses from Abbeyleix town at The Manor Hotel R32VE24 and The South School R32PP79.

Parking in the estate itself is complimentary but limited, so ticketbuyers are advised to book their parking space at time of purchase. Only Registered Cars will be admitted.

There are three ticket options available: Family Day Adult: €20, Child aged 5-16 €10, Under 5s: Two complimentary with one adult ticket. Trail Run Only: (over 12's only) Run Registrations: €20. Family Day & Trail Run: Adult Entry Ticket for Both: €30, Child Entry Ticket for Both: €20.   (Only prepaid registered runners will be admitted for the run).
