The Laois Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Laois SPCA) are holding a dog walk fundraiser at Emo Court and Parklands this month.
The event will be a leisurely three kilometre walk around the lake. The walk is a flat surface, suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
Tickets to the fundraiser are €10 per person, with free entry for children and dogs.
"You do not need a dog to join, come with family and friends," said organisers. "We would love to meet some of the dogs who have been adopted from us."
Attendees will have the chance to meet the dogs available for adoption from Laois SPCA, and speak to organisers with any questions about fostering or adopting.
Kicking off at 2pm on Sunday July 28, the fundraiser promises a 'fun filled family day out', with bake sale treats for both 'humans and canine friends', and a market stall selling 'gorgeous' dog collars, leads and bandanas.

The event will hold a raffle with a number of prizes available, including hotel stays and several €100 vouchers.
Registration for the walk takes place from 1pm onward at the picnic tables in the main car park.
All dogs are welcome and must be kept on a leash at all times. Restricted breeds are also welcome, but must be muzzled.
Laois SPCA is a voluntary organisation and all proceeds go towards helping the animals of Laois.
