The Electric Picnic residents committee in Laois is meeting this month to hear reports on the 2024 festival.

The committee will hold an Annual General Meeting in St Colman's National School with a busy agenda.

With proceeds of their local tickets donated by Festival Republic a big part of the committee's work, they will hear a treasurer report and annual accounts, as well as reports from their chairperson and secretary and election of the next committee.

The meeting is on Wednesday, February 19.

The committee has set aside its ticket proceeds in recent years to fundraise towards building Stradbally's first community hall, for multi-use by sports clubs and local groups to use.

Festival Republic MD Melvin Benn has committed to match funding their total towards the hall, once a site can be found for it.  Read more on that here.

Nomination forms for election of the Electric Picnic Residents committee are available at Stradbally library, or can be requested by emailing electricpicniccommittee@gmail.com or calling 085 8332292. The nominations process is open until February 10.  Notice in writing via email to the serving Secretary using the nomination form signed by the person confirming their willingness to be elected. They can also be delivered by hand to Catherine Murphy, Church Avenue, Stradbally.

Electric Picnic 2025 takes place from August 29 to 31. Tickets are sold out.
