With over 50 years of hands-on experience, Mr O'Neill began working with bees with his father and brothers as a teenager.
He now runs more than 90 colonies with his wife Imelda for honey production and for raising native Apis Mellifera Mellifera queens and nuclei.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of Ireland's most knowledgeable and committed advocates for Native Irish Honey Bees and sustainable beekeeping, taking place on Thursday November 20, at 8pm in the Midland Park Hotel.
Admission to this event is free for Laois Heritage Society members, or €5 for non-members. Membership registration is welcome on the night, with all welcome to join the group.
