A Laois Lions Club has raised a fantastic amount for a worthwhile cause.
Portlaoise Lions Club recently presented Laois Special Olympics Sports Club, Loachra Laoise, with a cheque.
The Lions club raised €1,000 for the sports club, with an official presentation held in St Mary's Hall, Portlaoise.

Loachra Laoise train in St Mary’s Hall, every Monday from 6:30 to 7:30, doing a number of sports including athletics, floorball, basketball and bowling.
Members and volunteers with both groups attended the fantastic presentation.
Separately, Mr Sean Cruise, President of Portlaoise Lions Club also presented Young Ambassador Awards to students James Doyle and David Otaru- Elabor.
The pair are students at St Mary's CBS in Portlaoise, with Deputy Principal Mr Brian Thompson and teacher Ms Maire Ní Ríordáin in attendance of the presentation.
