The Tree of Hope to be lit up for Laois Hospice and PATH

The turning on of The Tree of Hope Christmas lights in Portlaoise will be an enjoyable occasion and fundraiser for two local charities.

Under the Tree of Hope there will be gifts of hope which will contain a particular item that organisers are asking members of the public to donate.

Each gift will have different items on them and all will be collected and placed into a hamper before being donated to Portlaoise Action to Homelessness (PATH).

Each business in Hynd's Square will be selling remembrance ribbons which can be purchased for €1 each, this money will be donated to Laois Hospice. You can write a special message and pin it to the Tree of Hope in Hynd's Square.

The turning on of the lights on the Tree of Hope will take place on Sunday, November 26 from 3:30pm. These lights are funded by the businesses in Hynds Square.

Nuala Kelly and her contemporary choir will be on hand to sing songs and entertain the crowd.

The Bay Tree Restaurant will be providing mulled wine and hot chocolate in true festive spirit.
