CEO Adam Harris to give talk on Autism Spectrum Disorder in Laois

Well-known speaker and CEO of As I Am, Adam Harris, will give a public talk on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Laois this week.

Chairperson of LOFFA, Mary Dunne, told the Leinster Express that Adam made himself available for a series of talks including one in Laois, one in Offaly and a workshop with fifth year students in Mountrath Community School.

A free, public, evening talk will be hosted by Mountrath Community School Parent's Association and Laois Offaly Families for Autism (LOFFA) on Tuesday, January 30.

All are welcome and Mary Dunne said that she hopes community leaders and business owners will attend.

"We want to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders. It will be open to anybody, I am hoping that club leaders and business people will come along and learn about being more inclusive. We do a lot of work with children but there are teens and adults who need to be included too" she said.

Adam Harris, who is a brother of Health Minister Simon Harris, will hold a talk in Ballinamore school outside Tullamore on the morning of January 30, the school has an ASD unit.

He will also hold a workshop with fifth class students in Mountrath on the same day ahead of the public talk in the evening.
