Fundraising walk and collection for Laois homelessness charity

Walk a mile this weekend to help and support people experiencing homelessness this Christmas.

A walk will be held in Abbeyleix on Sunday, November 25 and there will be a collection for donations of essential items for the homeless.

The walk will take off from the Heritage House in Abbeyleix and is the perfect Sunday stroll for all the family this weekend.

Pamela Moran and staff at Ego Boost Hair Salon in Abbeyleix have arranged the walk to help raise money and supplies for Portlaoise Action To Homelessness (PATH).

The mile walk starts and finishes from the Heritage House Abbeyleix and there is tea/coffee and refreshments afterwards in the Heritage House. It kicks off at 12 noon.

People are encouraged to make a small donation after the walk or to bring some of the supplies that PATH have asked for including blankets, toothbrushes and toothpaste, hoodies, hats, scarves, socks, gloves, chocolates and crisps.

These donations will be brought to the streets of Dublin City where they will be given to people who are sleeping rough over the cold winter season.
