The 29th Annual Ballyroan Vintage Rally takes place this Sunday, May 19.
This year promises to bring a great day out for all the family.
There will be lots of vintage cars and tractors for vintage enthusiasts. The organisers are delighted to say the threshing will be returning this year after a very welcome return last year. People will get the chance to see a farrier at work making horse shoes and shoeing a horse.
The dog show has grown bigger each year, in no small part thanks to the help of Caroline Maher. The club would like to thank her for all her hard work on that.
As usual the pig on a spit and colcannon making is a great attraction, thanks to the members who work so hard to bring such lovely food prepared in the old style way. Another great attraction is the old style art of butter making.
There will be lots for the kids to do with lots of amusements and of course an ice cream van and a chip van.
This year sees a great raffle with first prize of a lovely ornate vintage style garden table and chairs. This has very kindly been sponsored by Parklane Interiors. Second prize is a garden strimmers and there are two lovely hampers for third and fourth prize.
Tickets are just €5 and can be purchased from any member beforehand or can be purchased on the day.
There is also a prize for best barn find, so don't forget to get looking for something unusal in your barn. There will of course be plenty of auto jumble and you never know what you could find there.
As always the club would like to thank Ballyroan GAA club for their continued support and for the use of facilities all year round.
The club would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors for all their support.
This year has been a very difficult year for the club with the passing of founder and friend Mick Murray.
Mick will always be a huge part of the club.
Mick will be fondly remembered on the day. His presence will be greatly missed at the rally. May he rest in peace.
Entry is just €5 and kids are free.
