At the 2017 Irish Car of the Year Awards, Ford models were voted best in class in two of the seven categories with the Ford Edge taking the Irish Large SUV of the Year title and the Ford Mustang clinching the Irish Performance Car of the Year gong.
Organised by the Irish Car of the Year committee, comprised of motoring journalists, Bob Flavin, John Galvin, Michael Moroney and Michael Sheridan, and supported by Continental Tyres, the Irish Car of the Year awards are voted on by a judging panel of close to 30 of Ireland’s most experienced motoring journalists.
Commenting on the Ford successes, Ciarán McMahon, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Ireland, said:
“We are delighted with these awards for the Ford Edge and Mustang.
As a truly premium SUV, the Edge has been recognised for its high levels of comfort, cutting-edge technologies and advanced driving dynamics.
“And what can I say about Mustang, whenever I drive it, it is the car that gets the most reaction, with total strangers striking up conversation about it at fuel pumps, car parks and even parked at traffic lights – it is a very worthy winner of Irish Performance Car of the Year…”
