Laois County Councillors hope that the James Fintan Lalor School can become an annual event.
The summer school, which was held for the first time in September was described as a “tremendous succecss” by Cathaoirleach Mary Sweeney.
“It had most interesting debates, but there was also cultural and education benefits. I hope we can have a renewal of it next year,” she said.
Cllr James Deegan congratulated all involved in organising the summer’s events.
Cllr Kathleen O’Brien said it was an excellent conference.
“It should be a yearly event,” she said.
While the County Manager said the speakers, visitors and attendance at the summer school was excellent.
“It was something very positive,” he said.
