Children and active retirees enjoy some waltzing in Portlaoise

Portlaoise’s 50+ Active Age Group and pupils from Emo National School enjoyed a great day of waltzing recently in cross generation event at the Portlaoise Parish Centre.

Portlaoise’s 50+ Active Age Group and pupils from Emo National School enjoyed a great day of waltzing recently in cross generation event at the Portlaoise Parish Centre.

After weeks of practice the children and active retired displayed a fleet of foot in Viennese Dancing event. 2012 is European year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations so the Portlaoise Active retired group was delighted to bring young and old participants together to perform a series of dances from the Quadrille and famous Blue Danube Waltz.
