Ashgrove Auction Rooms will feature in the BBC’s Antiques Road Trip on BBC2 next Tuesday, February 28 at 5.15pm.
The BBC’s Antiques Road Trip made a stop off at Ashgrove Auction Rooms in Ballybrittas last August as part of the series currently running on BBC 2.
Auctioneer and owner of Asghrove, Sean Eacrett welcomed the BBC’s Antique Road Trip celebrity experts Thomas Plant and Mark Hales.
“We were contacted by the BBC to feature in the Antiques Road Trip and we obviously weren’t going to turn it down. We had a strong turn out on the night, with around 200 people attending the auction. It was a big auction with over 1000 lots and 10 lots are from the BBC celebrities,” said Sean.
Sean is no stranger to the TV cameras and the Ashgrove Auction has previously been featured on both the BBC Antiques Road Trip and also in The RTE series The Dealers. “Flog It” and “Bargain Hunt” .
“It’s great that we keep being chosen for filming,” said Sean. “We auction over 2000 items each month at our two auctions and it really adds a great buzz locally when the TV cameras drop by”.
And did the celebrity items perform well at auction? Well you will just have to tune in to the show as unfortunately Sean didn’t want to spoil the surprise by letting us know beforehand. The episode filmed at the Ashgrove Auction will be broadcast on BBC 2 at 17.15 on Tuesday February 28 next.
