Neven cooks up a Feast

St. Peter’s Church Portlaoise will host a tasty fundraiser on Saturday, December 1 at 2pm in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel.

St. Peter’s Church Portlaoise will host a tasty fundraiser on Saturday, December 1 at 2pm in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel.

Award-winning chef, Neven Maguire, will join in the club’s fundraising efforts by demonstrating a range of Christmas recipes which are bound to suit all tastes.

At the core of Neven’s philosophy is a dedication to using only the finest, local ingredients; as part of this commitment, Neven will use a range of local artisan products on the day of the demonstration.

In addition to watching a true master at work, each attendee will receive a recipe booklet containing a selection of delicious recipes from some of Neven’s most treasured cookbooks. There will also be a number of spot prizes on the day, with Neven kindly providing the ultimate prize – a voucher for Dinner and Bed & Breakfast for two at his award-winning MacNean House and Restaurant.

Neven’s cookery demonstrations have become renowned for the learning and fun experienced by those who attend. Whether you are an aspiring home chef, or simply want to do something different with a group of friends, the upcoming demonstration is guaranteed to be great fun and should not be missed! Spaces are limited, so the early purchase of tickets is recommended.

Tickets cost €20 and are available now from: The Fruit & Nut Place, Flynn’s Menswear and Smaointe in Portlaoise; from Fletcher’s Newsagents in Portarlington; from Shaw’s and Ena’s on the Mill in Mountmellick; by contacting 087 636 8148 or 086 262 5999; and will also be available on the day (if there are any left!).

Alongside the cookery demonstration on the day and starting at about 12 noon on the day, a small “market” featuring local producers and artisan products will take place. Come and join in what promises to be a memorable day for all.

All money raised through ticket sales will go to St. Peter’s Church, Portlaoise.
