"The Football Pod" on off the ball has become one the most popular GAA podcast on the market. Itself and the GAA social are way out in front of any podcast available for avid fans of the GAA.

Hosted by Tommy Rooney and featuring Paddy Andrews and James O'Donoghue, the insight, and analysis achieved weekly by the trio matches and tops most punditry coverage on terrestrial TV.

This week after a six-week break the podcast returned with its first episode of 2023. The podcast kicked off the year with some predictions for 2023. In 2022 the three amigos foresaw the downfall of Tyrone and Mayo and predicted the fantastic year that was achieved by underdogs Derry.

Speaking on the podcast, Paddy Andrews said that Laois has zero momentum and he would not have any confidence in them getting out of Division four.

"For Laois, over the last three or four years they have had an alarming slide. They've had experienced well-known players and it has seemed to have just gone off the rails completely. Laois should not be in division four. But I'm not seeing any momentum behind them. There is no sparks to suggest there is anything positive going on. I would not put money on Laois getting out of Division Four," he said.
