The late Sean Clear from Ballacolla
Yesterday before the Carlow v Laois game in Netwatch Cullen Park, the PA system echoed the words, "could we all stand for a minute's silence".
The silence was in place after the sad passing of Sean Clear in New Zealand. The young man from Ballacolla tragically died following a work accident at the end of last week. He was in his mid 20's and comes from a close-knit family.
His death will be mourned by his mother Julie and sister Ella as well as his all his friends and family. Also mourned by his father, Tom who's a former chairman of Laois GAA and is a representative for Laois on the Leinster Council committee.
Sean is a former player of Clough-Ballacolla and played all along the grades before he embarked on his travels to New Zealand in the autumn of last year. He is also a former pupil of the national school in Ballacolla while he attended St Fergal's College in Rathdowney as a secondary school student.
As of yet, there have been no funeral arrangements released about his untimely passing.
