Adam loved hurling from an early age and was playing at senior level with his club Trumera by his 20s as well as representing Laois
Trumera GAA club has paid a poignant tribute to the late Adam Kirwan who lost his life in a car accident in Tipperary.
Just two weeks after the hurling club wished one of their rising stars the best of luck in the Ryan Cup colleges final, they have had to extend sympathy to his family on his untimely death aged just 22.
Adam represented the club at all levels and celebrated at a special function with the club and the community last year victory in the Laois Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2021.
"Trumera GAA Club extends its deepest sympathy to the family, friends and teammates, club and county, of our dear friend Adam Kirwan (RIP), Trumera. Our thoughts and prayers are also with Adam's family Lourda, Paul and Marie, family, friends and all members of Trumera GAA club at this time.
"As a club and community, we are heartbroken. Adam lit up all our lives on and off the pitch," said the tribute.
Adam attended primary school in the community near his home town Mountrath at Gaelscoil Thromaire which was the school where former GAA President Liam O'Neill taught for many years as a teacher and principal.
