SETU Carlow were victorious in last night's All-Ireland Freshers Football Division 2 final. The Carlow side featured five Laois players on the panel.
Portlaoise's Kevin Swayne, Graiguecullen's Conor Harte, Courtwood's Dylan Keane, Ballyroan-Abbey's Conor McWey and Ryan Quinlan from Spink were all named on the Carlow college's panel.
SETU Carlow 1-14
TUS Midlands 1-10
Swayne was named Player of the Match with his two points from centre back while Harte also scored a point. Keane and McWey featured off the bench. Carlow led 0-9 to 0-5 at half-time before a 1-4 scoring burst early in the second-half proved too much for TUS Midlands to overturn as SETU Carlow were crowned champions.
