The Laois Camogie team prior to throw-in
The Laois Camogie team have yet to register a point in this year's Very Camogie Leagues after Derry got the better of Laois on Wednesday evening in TU Dublin Grangegorman.
This match was a refixture of their Round 3 clash as the game was originally called off due to the sad passing of Adam Kirwan on March 2.

Both sides took their time to settle into the game with Laois almost making the perfect start as Gráinne Delaney was hooked as she shot for goal. Derry opened the scoring after five mins as Áine McAllister raised a white flag. Derry were doing all the attacking in the early stages as they raced into a 1-4 to no score lead after 15 minutes.
McAllister pointed two more sublime points as Laois struggled to deal with the Derry woman's direct running and ability to take scores under pressure. She turned provider for the fourth point as she set up Áine McGill to point from midfield.
Derry's first goal was tapped into the net by Gráinne McAtamney after a good pass from Mairéad McNicholl. Laois finally got off the mark in the 17th minute as Andrea Scully pointed from play.
Derry's number 10 was causing havoc for the Laois defence as she took her tally to four points with 20 minutes on the clock. Aimee Collier pointed a free for Laois before Aoife Shaw replied for Derry from open play.
Eimear Hassett got Laois' third point of the contest with the girls knowing a strong second-half performance would be needed to overturn the deficit. Derry added to their tally with a placed ball from McNicholl before McAllister fired in a second goal for the Ulster side. Laois would make it a seven-point game just before the break as Clodagh Tynan found Amy Flanagan to raise Laois' first green flag. Derry leading 2-7 to 1-3 at half-time.
Derry kicked off the second-half's proceedings with a point from Shaw. Laois would get their second goal as a long ball in from midfielder Alice Walsh evaded everyone in the square and found the back of the net. Collier pointed another free as Laois got within four points of their Ulster opposition.
McAtamney and two points from McAllister pushed Derry further ahead as Laois knew it would be difficult to get a result from the game. To Laois' credit they kept plugging away as Tynan, Walsh and free from Collier kept their scoreboard ticking.
Derry were firing on all cylinders as they pointed another five points before the end. McAllister pointed twice to leave her with an impressive tally of 1-8. McNicholl, Shaw and substitute Aimee Lennon all raising white flags for the eventual victors. Scully got her second score of the game late on as Derry ran out comfortable winners in the end.
Laois face two more games in this year's Division 2A with away games against Westmeath and Kerry to come.
