The Laois Ladies will go search of another major honour this weekend as they make the trip up to the GAA HQ to take on Armagh in the Lidl National League Division 2 final.

The sides met in the league format of the division with Armagh recording a home victory over Laois by 0-10 to 0-5. Since that game on February 26, Laois have two wins from two with them defeating Cavan and Roscommon. The win over Roscommon sealed their place in the final after Armagh had beaten Tipperary in the final round so Laois finished second alongside Tipp, but by virtue of the head-to-head rule, Laois set up a clash with table-toppers Armagh at Croke Park.

As well as that, Erone Fitzpatrick has signed a contract to play for Carlton in the AFLW for the upcoming season. The Park-Ratheniska forward will be a huge loss for Laois in the All-Ireland Senior Championship as they aim to win back-to-back championships just like current All-Ireland champions Meath done in 2020 and 2021.

Laois will be hoping they can draw on the experience they gained in Croke Park at the end of July last year as they were crowned All-Ireland Intermediate champions and climbed the steps of the Hogan Stand to lift the Mary Quinn Cup. Armagh will come into the game as hot favourites as they won seven games from seven and finished with a points difference of 72.

Donie Brennan's side know they'll be in for a tough game on Saturday afternoon with the winner claiming promotion to the top table of the league for 2024.

The game will be shown live on TG4 with the game throwing-in at 3pm. Tickets can also be bought HERE.
