Laois' Stephen Bergin has been nominated for GAA.ie Player of the Week
For the second week running, Laois GAA is represented on the GAA.ie Team of the Week. This weekend saw the Laois hurlers in action as Willie Maher's side recorded a routine win over Down on Sunday afternoon.
Stephen Bergin was to the fore as the Clough-Ballacolla man fired in a hatrick of goals as Laois rattled the Down net seven times over the course of the game. Bergin has been included in the Team of the Week as well as been nominated for the overall Player of the Week where he'll go up against Cillian Kiely of Offaly and Kerry's Shane Conway.
Two of Laois' defenders have also been named on the team as Ian Shanahan, who scored a fine score from play and Padraig Delaney from The Harps, who got himself two scores from the half-back line.
Voting for Bergin to be named Player of the Week can be found on the GAA's Instagram Stories.
