Former Laois star Ross Munnelly will be pulling the balls out of a hat, one of which will have is former team's name on it when the Tailteann Cup draw is made by the GAA this week.
Twenty years ago, the Arles Kilcruise man was on the Laois team that beat Dublin and Kildare on the way to winning the Leinster Final. Now, less than a year after retiring he will join the GAA president in the draw to find out who his third seeded county will come up against in the second tier Gaelic football competition.
The other third seeded teams are Longford, Tipperary and Wexford.
The confirmed Tailteann Cup seedings are:
1st Seeds: Meath, Cavan, Fermanagh and Limerick
2nd Seeds: Down, Offaly, Antrim and Wicklow
3rd Seeds: Longford, Tipperary, Laois and Wexford
4th Seeds: Leitrim, Carlow, Waterford, London
In the Tailteann Cup, the 16 participating Counties will be drawn in four separate groups. New York will enter the Tailteann Cup at the preliminary quarter-final stage.
The schedule of games for the group stages of the Tailteann Cup will be:
Round 1 (first named team at home)
May 13-14 (Sat/Sun)
Seed 1 v Seed 3
Seed 2 v Seed 4
Round 2 (first named team at home)
May 20-21 (Sat/Sun)
Seed 3 v Seed 2
Seed 4 v Seed1
Round 3 (Neutral venues)
June 3/4 (Sat/Sun)

Seed 3 v Seed 4

Sam Maguire Cup Seedings
1st Seeds: Galway or Sligo; Kerry or Clare; Dublin or Louth and Armagh or Derry
2nd Seeds: Galway or Sligo; Kerry or Clare; Dublin or Louth and Armagh or Derry
3rd Seeds: Mayo, Roscommon, Tyrone and Monaghan
4th Seeds: Donegal, Cork, Kildare and Westmeath
Full fixture details will be confirmed by the C.C.C.C on Friday, May 5th
The draws take place at 1pm on Tuesday, May 2 and will be broadcast live on www.GAA.ie (GAANOW) as well as on the associations social media channels @OfficialGAA and @GAAGO.
The draws will be presented by Gráinne McElwain and conducted by GAA President Larry McCarthy will be joined by former Dublin footballer Paddy Andrews for the Sam Maguire Cup draw and Munnelly for the Tailteann Cup draw.
