Laois footballers discover Tailteann Cup fate following group-stage draw

The Laois Senior football team has found out who they'll play in this year's Tailteann Cup after the draw was conducted this afternoon.

Laois have been drawn alongside Cavan, Offaly and London in Group 1.

Their first game in the Tailteann Cup will be away to Cavan on the weekend of May 13/14.

They will play two further games with Offaly at home in Round 2 on the weekend of May 20/21 with the final game against London played at a neutral venue on the weekend of June 3/4.

Full fixture details will be confirmed by the GAA’s CCCC on Friday May 5.

The top team in each group will go straight into the Quarter Finals with the four second placed teams and the three best placed third placed teams will all advance to the preliminary quarter-finals. The worst placed third place team will be knocked out with their place being taken by New York.

Group 2 has Meath, Down, Tipperary and Waterford

Group 3 has Limerick, Wicklow, Longford and Carlow

Group 4 has Fermanagh, Antrim, Wexford and Leitrim
