Laois Ladies set to begin Leinster Senior Championship against The Dubs

Having reached the Division 2 final in April, ultimately losing out to Armagh, Laois will come into the Leinster Senior Championship with their tails up as they take on Dublin on Sunday afternoon from 2pm in DCU St Clare's.

Laois have earned the right to play in this year's Senior Championship off the back of their Intermediate All-Ireland win over Wexford at the end of July last year. They'll be up against serious competition as they will face Dublin and then back-to-back All-Ireland winning Meath.

Dublin themselves are a powerhouse in Ladies' Football having featured in seven consecutive All-Ireland finals between 2014-2020, with them claiming four All-Ireland's in-a-row from the year 2017 up until 2020. They've won five All-Ireland's with their first coming in 2010.

Meanwhile, Meath are an up and coming force in Ladies' Football having played Intermediate Football in 2020 where they captured the Mary Quinn Cup before beating Dublin and Kerry respectively in the last two All-Ireland finals under the guidance of Eamonn Murray.

Laois take on Mick Bohan's Dublin in Round 2 on Sunday after Laois had a bye in Round 1 with Dublin defeating Meath last week in Navan on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-7 with Hannah Tyrell get the all-important goal in the first-half. Following Sunday's match against Dublin, the two All-Ireland champions will collide as Intermediate champions Laois host Senior champions Meath.

Dublin and Laois will throw-in at 2pm on Sunday May 7 while tickets can be bought here. A live stream can also be bought for those unable to attend the game in Dublin using this link.
