This weekend will see the beginning of the Tailteann Cup, the second-tier of the All Ireland Football Championship, with Laois versus Cavan being the game to mark the beginning of the competition.
Laois face a daunting away trip to Breffni Park on Saturday evening as they begin their Tailteann Cup campaign against last year's finalists Cavan. The game has also been chosen as the only game of this weekend's Tailteann Cup contests that will be shown on the GAA's pay-per-view service GAAGO. The game throws-in at 4pm on Saturday May 13.
Laois face two further games in Group 1 as Offaly will come to Portlaoise in Round 2 on Satuday May 20 before Laois and London will contest Round 3, this game will be played a neutral venue yet to be decided.
The top teams in each group automatically advance to the quarter-final knockout stages. The four second-placed teams go to preliminary quarter-finals where they are joined by the three best third placed teams along with New York.
