Last weekend saw Laois need a last-minute equaliser from the fist of Niall Corbet as his point ensured that Laois remained in the competiton.
The match against London ebbed and flowed as it looked at times like Laois were going to finish second in the group and have a home preliminary quarter-final. There were also times when Laois looked to be going out of the competition as London led as the clock ticked past 70 minutes until a free from Paul Kingston and Corbet's point snatched a draw for Billy Sheehan's men.
That result meant Laois finished third in the group thus pitting them against a second-placed team away from home. The preliminary quarter-final draw took place on Sunday evening with Laois drawn to play Fermanagh in Enniskillen.
In terms of recent meetings, Laois faced Fermanagh in last year's Allianz Football League Division 3 with the northern side winning out 3-15 to 3-9. Laois ended up being relegated from last year's league as they lost out on head-to-head.
Fermanagh come into the game off the back of a defeat to Antrim. A victory over Andy McEntee's side would have secured top-spot but instead they had to settle for second-place in Group 4. They had started their campaign with a draw against Wexford, a side Laois have beaten twice already this year. Their only victory of the Tailteann Cup so far came against Leitrim in Round 2.
Billy Sheehan will be hoping his Laois side can prolong their season for another week as a win on Saturday would tee up a quarter-final game away to Meath, Antrim or Limerick the following weekend.
Laois and Fermanagh go to battle in Brewster Park, Enniskillen on Saturday June 10 from 6pm. Anyone travelling to the game can buy tickets through this link or in participating Supervalu/ Centra stores.
