Laois GAA Club announces new date for duck race and fun day

The Rock GAA club on the outskirts of Mountmellick have announced a new date for its annual fundraising fun day that includes a duck race along the River Triogue.

Hundreds of little plastic ducks will be released to compete while onlookers cheer them on, hoping for big prizes. The ducks are carefully gathered up again for the following year after their big day out.

Ducks can be bought for €5 while there's a special offer of five ducks for €20. The top three prizes include 2 nights bed and breakfast and one evening meal in the Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick, a 40-inch tv as well as a smart watch.

The club had to cancel the original event due to adverse weather conditions but the show must go on with the duck race and fun day now taking place on Sunday, October 1 from 1.30pm.
