Colt-Shanahoe will be hurling in the Premier Intermediate Championship next year after pulling out a huge second half performance to overcome Trumera in the Intermediate final in O’Moore Park.
The neighbours couldn’t be separated after their first final two weeks ago ended in a draw and this one looked every bit as tight until a couple of goals midway through the second half gave Colt-Shanahoe a big advantage.

Trumera started the game the better of the pair before a goal from Josh Hickey late in the half gave Colt-Shanahoe a one point lead. True to form, Trumera battled back before the break to restore a one-point lead.
A goal from Nathan Dunne early in the second half gave Colt-Shanahoe a massive boost and another from James Keyes 10 minutes later gave them a seven point lead.
The duo combined for a fourth Colt-Shanahoe goal on 48 minutes that gave them an unsurmountable lead and Trumera battled on but the couldn’t find a way back.
Caolan Murphy and Nathan Dunne traded scores in the opening minutes as the game bgan at a frantic pace, and Niall Sinnott nudged Trumera ahead with a free on three minutes.
Sinnott was again on the spot seven minutes later to pop over another free and Trumera rallied to hit another two, a great effort out on the wing from Dylan Lalor and a very hard worked point from Paddy Hosey.
After 12 scoreless minutes David Madden got Colt-Shanahoe back on the board with a good effort from midfield and Dunne added a second free from the right sideline.
Cathal Brophy did brilliantly to get a strike off under pressure at the other end and the ball sailed between the posts to put Trumera three up.
That lead was soon cut to one thanks to a free and a 65 from Nathan Dunne.
Niall Sinnott struck back from play after poor attempts at clearing from Colt-Shanahoe, but Trumera would suddenly find themselves behind a minute later.
Cian Moffitt saw a shot at goal bounce off the post, but land straight to the feet of Josh Hickey who bundled it over the line from close range.
Trumera rallied again late in the half and took the lead before the break thanks to two good strikes from Sinnott, the led 0-9 to 1-5.
Ben McDonald opened the scoring in the second half with a point and Nathan Dunne soon followed with a brilliant goal into the bottom corner.
Jamie Lewis and Sinnott hit back for Trumera to bring it to a point behind, but James Keyes fired over his score in response.
He followed with his second moments later with a beautifully taken goal after cutting inside from the left wing and finishing from the tightest of angles.
Bryan Bredin and Lewis hit back for Trumera as they began to look on the back foot and Colm Kavanagh replied for Colt-Shanahoe.
Nathan Dunne put the game all but out of reach for Trumera when he was on hand to bury the ball into the net after a fantastic catch in the air from James Keyes before he turned his man and tore into space.
Keyes added another point moments later under pressure and Kavanagh and McDonald added another one each to put 10 between the sides approaching the final 10 minutes.
Paddy Hosey struck one back for Trumera in vain as the game was already beyond doubt.
Robbie Moffitt, Kavanagh and Darragh Hiney put the icing on the cake of a fantastic Colt-Shanahoe performance with three well taken scores into the night sky before Alan Doheny blew the final whistle.
