Laois GAA fans will have to wait until late January next year to get their chance to see the first competitive inter-county games of 2025 but at least now they know when, where and against who the hurlers and footballers will be playing in the hurling and football leagues.
With the O'Byrne and Walsh Cups scrapped, fans have to wait until the end of January for the the Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues 2025 to throw in.
Justin McNulty will lead the footballers in Division 3 while Tommy Fitzgerald is over the hurlers has they contest in Division 1B of the hurling league.
Fans should get value for money in round 2 when Laois and Offaly play a double header of football and hurling in Portlaoise.
The pick of the football games will see Laois taking on Offaly at home and Kildare away in the new home of Kildare GAA in Newbridge.
In football Laois play Leitrim, Offaly, Sligo, Kildare, Clare and Fermanagh. In hurling Laios play Westmeath, Offaly, Waterford, Antrim and Dublin.
The managements of both Laois GAA codes will be looking to follow up on 2024 final wins in Division 4 of the football league and Division 2A of the hurling league.
