Ambitious plans unveiled for new community centre at rural Laois GAA club

Barrowhouse Community Association, chaired by Tom Phelan, has submitted plans for an ambitious development at Barrowhouse GAA Grounds, Shanaganmore, Barrowhouse, Co. Laois.

The proposed project includes the construction of a community hub featuring a community hall, gym, GAA dressing rooms, meeting room, and a multi-use games area. The development will also incorporate a hurling wall, an extended walkway track, a juvenile pitch, a new car parking area, and associated site works. 

The club has issued notice that it intends to apply for permission from Laois County Council for the developments. See the proposed plans below.

The details are to be posted on the planning website of Laois County Council with a decision due on March 10 2025.
