Rosenallis and the wider Laois community are mourning the passing of Enda McEvoy, whose death has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Enda passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, at St James' Hospital in Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a valued member of Rosenallis GAA, having recently lined out for the club in their Laois GAA Division 4 Hurling Round 1 match against Clonad. His presence on the field and within the club was cherished, and his loss is deeply felt by his teammates and the wider sporting circles in Laois.
His passing has been met with an outpouring of grief and heartfelt tributes on RIP.ie from those who knew him and his family.
Derrylamogue National School Staff and Board of Management extended their condolences to his family, stating, “Deepest condolences to the McEvoy family on the passing of Enda. May he Rest in Peace.”
Conny and Catherine Dunne of Clonaslee shared their sorrow, remembering Enda as 'a good one' and offering their sincere sympathies to his father, Sean, and his family.
Melanie Drumm expressed her heartbreak at Enda’s passing, recalling the impact he had on those around him. “I’m absolutely heartbroken for Enda’s father Sean and brothers Richie, Mick and Shane. Enda was such a lovely fella. I can’t believe it. I know the community of Rosenallis will rally around you. I hope your cherished memories give you some comfort in the days, weeks and months ahead.”
The McElwee family and staff also paid tribute, saying, "We are so truly very sorry to hear about the very sad loss of a dear son, brother, uncle and friend that was Enda to so many. Our deepest sympathies to Sean, Richard, Michael, and Shane, and all of Enda’s family. May he rest in peace."
Enda is pre-deceased by his loving mother Dorothy and his infant sister. He is deeply regretted by his father Sean, brothers Richard, Michael, and Shane, sister-in-law Ann, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and many friends.
His funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
