Aoibhinn Brennan was in undeniable form as she produced a scintillating display to lead Scoil Bhríde Portlaoise to the Division 4 Camogie Shield in a dominant victory over Ballyadams NS.

Lucja Gajoch opened the scoring before Shannen Gillick landed a nice score in return for Ballyadams, but Portlaoise were in for their first goal before too long when Brennan rattled the ball past Elanor Thompson.

A 45 from Áine Keenan followed, with Gajoch pointing again before playing in Mollie Byrne for a second Portlaoise goal. Gajoch then charged through on goal where she raised a third green flag as Scoil Bhríde were beginning to assert their dominance.

Keenan added another score from distance shortly before the break and brought the first half to a close with a fourth Portlaoise goal to leave her side 11 points to the good at half time, leading 4-4 to 0-1.

Ballyadams were fastest out of the blocks after the restart and claimed their first goal thanks to a tidy finish from Ellie Knowles. But Portlaoise sprung Ella-Mae McHugh off the bench, who made an immediate impact, raising a fifth green flag for her side.

Another goal was to follow when Keenan’s free from halfway looped over the head of Thompson and into the Ballyadams net. Not to be outdone, Lucja Gajoch steadied herself for a strike from distance moments later and hit a thunderbolt into the back of the net.

The next five minutes belonged to Aoibhinn Brennan, who rattled in three goals back-to-back in one of the fastest hat-tricks O’Moore Park has ever seen. Gajoch followed up with her second goal of the game before Brennan closed out the final with two more goals. TEAMS AND SCORERS BELOW PICTURE.
