The Rock GAA Club are set to bring plenty of fun and excitement this autumn with the return of their much-anticipated Duck Race.
The quirky fundraiser takes place on Sunday, September 7, 2025, along the Triogue River at The Rock GAA grounds. The event, which is being held in aid of the Laois GAA club’s juvenile section, promises a full afternoon of family entertainment.
Funday activities get underway from 1.30pm, before the main spectacle, the Duck Race itself, begins at around 5pm.
A fantastic array of prizes will be on offer for those taking part, including:
1st Prize: Two nights bed and breakfast plus an evening meal for two in any Só Hotel
2nd Prize: 43-inch TV
3rd Prize: Six-month membership in Zest Leisure Club, Killeshin
4th Prize: Smart watch
5th Prize: Three-course dinner for four people in Newbridge Greyhound Stadium
6th Prize: Wireless ear pods
Ducks are priced at €5 each, or you can sponsor a flock of five for €20.
The race will be livestreamed on The Rock GAA Club Facebook page. Tickets can be purchased via the club’s social media channels or directly through Klubfunder.
With fun for all the family and big prizes up for grabs, the club say it’s an event not to be missed, or as their poster puts it: “You’d be quackers not to participate!”.
