All-Ireland Camogie champions Laois discover league and championship path for 2026

League and championship schedules set as Laois step up after All-Ireland success

All-Ireland Camogie champions Laois discover league and championship path for 2026

The Laois Camogie team were crowned All-Ireland champions in August

The Laois Camogie team will face a demanding, but exciting 2026 campaign following the Camogie Association’s confirmation of its Master Fixtures Plan, with league and championship schedules now locked in for the year ahead.

The O’Moore County enjoyed an unforgettable 2025, capturing the Division 3A league title with a flawless run before defeating Roscommon in the final in Kinnegad. Provincial championship disappointment followed with a Leinster Intermediate final loss to Carlow, but Laois responded in style by sweeping aside all opposition on their way to All-Ireland Premier Junior glory, overcoming Armagh in Croke Park in August to banish the heartbreak of the previous year against Tipperary.

Very National League Division 2A

Laois have been placed in a single round-robin group in Division 2A, where they will play each opponent once. The top two teams will contest the league final, with the winners earning promotion to Division 1B for 2027, while the bottom-placed side will drop to Division 3A.

Laois begin their campaign with a long trip south to face Kerry on the weekend of February 14/15, before welcoming Derry a week later. Away trips to Meath and Carlow follow, with the league programme concluding at home against Westmeath on March 21/22. The Division 2A final is fixed for Saturday, April 11.

All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Championship

In the championship, Laois will compete in the Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Intermediate Championship, which features eight teams split into two groups of four.

Laois are drawn in Group 2 alongside Carlow, Meath and Westmeath. Group 1 contains Kerry, Antrim, Down, and relegated senior side Derry.

Group games are scheduled across late May and June, with Laois’ opening championship fixture set for the weekend of May 23/24. The bottom two teams in Group 2 will face a relegation playoff, with the loser dropping to Premier Junior for 2027.

The top two teams in Group 1 go straight into the semi-finals. The third and fourth-placed teams in Group 1 will go into the quarter-finals. The first and second-placed teams in Laois' group will go into the quarter-finals.

The quarter-finals will see the third and fourth-placed teams from Group 1 in one bowl and the first and second-placed teams from Laois' group in another bowl.

The semi-finals will see the top two teams in Group 1 in one bowl with the quarter-final winners in the other bowl.

There is no automatic promotion from Intermediate, with movement between grades to be reviewed at the end of 2026.
