Laois senior football team named for Sligo game in Portlaoise on Valentine's Day

Laois senior football manager Justin McNulty has revealed his starting 15 and substitutes for Saturday evening's Division 3 Round 3 contest against Sligo at Laois Hire O'Moore Park.

It has been two weeks since Laois' last game, when they were well beaten by Wexford, 0-23 to 0-9. That defeat followed an opening-round draw with Limerick, a game Laois probably should, and could, have won.

The side named for Saturday shows no changes from the Wexford clash. That will come as good news for Laois supporters, as there had been concern over the fitness of Evan O'Carroll after he went off injured against Wexford.

Portlaoise's Ben Dempsey has had a busy week, having lined out for the University of Limerick team that won their first-ever Sigerson Cup title against UCC in Croke Park on Wednesday evening.

LAOIS: Killian Roche (Killeshin); Ben Dempsey (Portlaoise), Trevor Collins (Graiguecullen), Kevin Swayne (Portlaoise); Paddy O’Sullivan (Portarlington), Brian Byrne (Captain, Graiguecullen), Jack Lacey (St Joseph's); Rob Tyrrell (Courtwood), Ciaran Burke (Crettyard); Rioghan Murphy (Portarlington), Evan O’Carroll (Crettyard), Conor Heffernan (Killeshin); Niall Corbet (Clonaslee St Manman's), Daragh Galvin (Portarlington), Ronan Coffey (Portarlington).

SUBS: Matthew Byron (Courtwood), Darren Brennan (Portlaoise), Mikie Dempsey (St Joseph's), Colin Dunne (Arles-Killeen), Paul Kingston (Arles-Killeen), Alan Kinsella (Courtwood), Cathal Lee (Clonaslee St Manman's), Alex Mohan (Portarlington), Sean O’Neill (The Rock), Eoghan Slattery (Courtwood), Cian Ryle (Kilcavan).

Laois v Sligo throws-in at 6pm on Saturday, February 14, in Laois Hire O'Moore Park, Portlaoise. You can follow all the action on the Leinster Express/ Laois Live's free live blog from 5.50pm.
