Laois hurlers’ clash with Meath added to TG4 schedule after Waterford-Tipperary postponement

Laois' Allianz Hurling League Division 2 contest against Meath on Sunday will now be shown on TG4 as deferred coverage.

TG4 were originally sending a camera down to record highlights of the game, but due to the Waterford and Tipperary game being postponed following the death of Benny Kiely, father of Waterford player Michael Kiely, TG4 has decided to show deferred coverage of the Laois match in the slot that had been allocated for deferred coverage of Carlow and Kildare.

Carlow v Kildare will now be shown on deferred coverage on TG4 at 3.20pm, but the game will also be streamed live on the TG4 app at 2pm. Clare v Wexford will be shown live on TG4 from 12.45pm ahead of the 1.15pm throw-in.

Laois' team for Sunday's game shows four changes from the one that defeated Westmeath by nine points in Mullingar last Sunday. There is a change between the sticks as Eoin Reilly replaces Cathal Dunne. Jordan Walshe makes his first league start of 2026 and takes the place of Eoin Gaughan. There is also a change at midfield as Fionan Mahony comes into the side in place of Aidan Corby.

The final change sees Aaron Dunphy named at 14. He had been listed to start the Westmeath game but was replaced by Mark Dowling before throw-in, with his number then worn by Martin Phelan.

Comerford (The Harps); Fiachra C Fennell (Rosenallis), Podge Delaney (The Harps), Jordan Walshe (Clough/Ballacolla); David Dooley (Rosenallis), Fionan Mahony (Abbeyleix); James Keyes (Colt-Shanahoe), Jack Kelly (Rathdowney-Errill), Ryan Mullaney (Castletown); Cillian Dunne (Clough/Ballacolla), Aaron Dunphy (Borris-Kilcotton), Mossy Keyes (Camross).

A fifth win in as many matches for Laois on Sunday will see them claim a spot in the Division 2 league final and, in doing so, promotion back to Division 1B at the first time of asking following their relegation in 2025.

The game throws in at 2pm, with deferred coverage on TG4 scheduled for 4.50pm.
