Girls Allianz Roinn 5 Final

Four goals from Tobar an Léinn midfielder Anna Keane saw her side claim a well deserved victory over Ballinakill in the girls Division 5 final last Wednesday in O'Moore Park.

Tobar an Léinn got off to a perfect start with Eleanor Holland pounced for a goal in just the fourth minute, and Erin Lalor soon added a point to put them four ahead.

Ballinakill were struggling to break down a resolute Raheen defence, with a couple of last-ditch tackles keeping them in the lead. Anna Keane then got the first of her goals , while Eleanor Holland added a point.

Ballinakill's hard work was finally rewarded after that when Angel Doyle split the posts for their first score, and Katie Healy added a second moments later. Raheen would finish the half strongly however, as Anna Keane scored her second goal as they lead 3-2 to 0-2 at the interval.

It was always going to be difficult for Ballinakill to chase down that lead, and things get even harder after the break when Tobar and Léinn raced out of the traps.

They kicked four points on the trot, with Eleanor Holland and Lucy Brennan getting a brace of scores each.

Anna Keane then completed her hat trick to leave the final result in little doubt, as Amy Lacey converted a free for Ballinakill.

That wasn't the end of the scoring though, as Anna Keane made it four goals for her, while Joanne Conroy added a couple of points. Ballinakill would not finish the game without some reward for the efforts though, as Amy Lacey scored a fine goal to give her team something to cheer late on.
