A dominant first half display saw Knock NS get the better of Castletown in this boys Division 5 final last Tuesday in O'Moore Park.
It was a cagey opening to the game from both teams, as Sean Peters gave Castletown an early lead only to see Darragh Cahill cancel it out soon after.
Conor Fitzpatrick then edged Knock in front, and they would never find themselves behind again, although Castletown briefly restored parity with a Billy Kerry point.
Michael Fleming soon had Knock back in front, and they never looked back after that, as Conor Fitzpatrick added a brace of points.
Fleming then curled over a free before the first goal of the game arrived when Darragh Cahill fired in a cracker. He added a point less than a minute later, as all the momentum was with the Knock men. Conor Fitzpatrick then got their second goal, before Sean Peters managed to land a point before half time for Castletown, but Knock held a commanding 2-7 to 0-3 lead at the break.
Sean Peters struck for a goal early in the second half to give his team a lifeline, but Knock held them out well after that, with Liam Kehoe making a brilliant save from Ciaran McKelvey. Knock finished out the game with three unanswered points from Fitzpatrick (2) and Fleming to wrap up the win.
