A blistering first half display saw Rosenallis on their way to victory in this girls Division 6 final played in O'Moore Park last Tuesday afternoon.
The winners had the game all but wrapped up by the midpoint, as an excellent all-round team performance got them past a Castletown team that never stopped working and trying to get themselves back into the game.
Rosenallis hit the front early on when Amy McKane and Ellen Conroy slotted over points, and their lead got even bigger moments later thanks to a goal from Conroy.
The confidence was flowing now for Rosenallis as they began to hit their stride, and the scores duly followed. Alison Hyland raised two green flags for ther side, while Amy McKane also got in on the act, firing in another goal.
Castletown certainly couldn't be faulted for effort, but the Rosenallis girls were firing on all cylinders now, as McKane tagged on a point, and Alison Hyland added two.
Castletown did manage a score before the break throught Shannon Conroy, but Rosenallis held a comannding lead at half time, 5-4 to 0-1 the score.
Castletown had a mountain to climb now, and the summit moved even higher when Lucy Conroy hit another Rosenallis goal. Shannon Conroy and Aime Byrne replied for Castletown, but Caoimhe Egan then got another goal for Rosenallis.
The closing minutes were dominated by Castletown, and their considerable efforts were finally rewarded with a goal from Hannah Kearney.
