A Conor Doran goal in the final minute of normal time saw Rushall NS claim a dramatic victory in this Boys Division 7 final last Wednesday.
Rushall had raced into a 12 point lead after just seven minutes, but a battling Arles NS side came storming back at them, only to be pipped at the post.
Jamie Conway opened the scoring with a free for Arles, but Rushall hit back in devastating fashion with four goals in five minutes. Conor Doran (2), Aaron Phelan and Patrick O'Connor all hit the target, as the men in red took control.
Arles NS were stunned by that sequence of play, but settled into the game thanks to goals from Ben Slattery Jamie Conway. Aaron Phelan raised another green flag for Rushall before the break, leaving the half time score 5-2 to 2-2 in his team's favour.
The pace of play stepped up in the second half, as Arles tried to chase down the Rushall lead. Ben Slattery and Aodhán Lowry pointed before Lowry's shot from distance ended up in the net. Rushall hit back with goals from Doran and Phelan to put themselves in a commanding position, but Arles kept chipping away.
Two goals from Aodhán Lowry and one from Jamie Conway got them right back into it, with Lowry adding a point to edge them in front. However, in a frantic end to the game, Conor Doran rifled in his fourth goal of the game to win it for Rushall NS.
