Ballinakill GAA want to remind the whole community that the jogging track is available to use as a free and safe alternative to the dark roads at this time of year. Each lap of the main pitch is 500 metres. The track and ball wall (sponsored by Copper Face Jacks' Cathal Jackson and Dowling Quarries) is fully illuminated up to 21:30 every evening. Ballypickas GAA Club's dinner dance for the presentation of 2017 Junior Hurling Championship medals is on Saturday the 20th of January in the manor hotel in Abbeyleix. The Club's Annual Awards will also be presented on the the night. Tickets are only €30 for a three course meal with Music on the night by Damian Bowe & The Vows Weddeng Band. For anyone who wants to see the band and not get the meal there will be a €10 charge on the door from 10:30. Laois GAA All County Clubs Members Draw
Tickets are currently on sale for the 2018 Laois GAA All County Clubs Members Draw. The Annual Fund Raising initiative run by the Laois County Board, it is one of our Clubs primary revenue sources with Park/Ratheniska taking home close to 3/4's of the purchase price. However only tickets bought from the Park/Ratheniska GAA Club benefit the Park/Ratheniska GAA Club, so please make sure to buy your tickets from a GAA Club member.
These tickets remain our single most important fund-raiser for the club and members are urged to support this in every way possible, be it buying a full ticket, or perhaps sharing a ticket with some friends or family members.
We now have an payment plan which you can avail of should you so wish. More information on it can be found on the plan on our website, www.parkratheniskagaa.com, but essentially you can roll your membership, club lotto and All County Clubs Members Draw into the one monthly payment of €18, spread out over 12 months, and save yourself €30.
Tickets are €130 each and can be sourced from any GAA Club member. And if you feel you can't purchase a full ticket, then half and quarter shares are also available, so please, do what you can! Thank you all once again for your continued support.
Athletic Development Workshop With Peter Hally
We're delighted to announce that Laois GDA Peter Hally will hold an Athletic Development Workshop in Ratheniska Hall, next Tuesday night, January 16th from 7-8pm.
Hurling and Football mentors from U8 to Senior are requested to attend as Peter will tailor parts of the workshop to make it relevant for each age group on the night.

Laois GAA Award 1 Child Football Coaching Course: The Award 1 course has been designed to take account of the different playing capacities that exist between children (up to 12 years), youths (age 13 – 18) and Adults (age 19+) and the competencies that a coach is required to display when working with each of the playing populations. County Board Draw
The All County Draw tickets are out also with four monthly draws with prize money of €100,000 to be won.Tickets are €130 and be paid by monthly installments and are available from any committee member. This is the club's main yearly income and would encourage people of the town to support the club with this draw.
The Annual Dinner Dance is on January 26th in The Heritage Hotel Killenard where the successful winning Minor and U-21s will be presented their county medals. Music on the night and it promises to be a great night, tickets are €40 are on sale from Darren Bracken, Niall Slevin and Adrianne McCarthy.
The Club Annual General Meeting was held recently in The Physio Centre, The Square, where the members reviewed the activities of the past year and laid plans for the next twelve months.
2017 was deemed to be another successful year, with the completion of a historic 5-in-a-row Laois Senior Championship titles as well as winning back the U-14A Championship and also the Minor B Championship.
