GAA Digest - January 30

We have a number of ongoing projects to maintain/improve our club facilities and subsequently we hope that you can continue your support and become a member of your club for 2018. (details to follow)

Club Texting System
Please be aware that Ballinakill GAA Club have a texting system to inform all interested members / followers of the club of upcoming social events, matches, lotto results etc . Should you wish to avail of the system please TEXT 087-2355301 with your name and number and you will be included within all such messages throughout 2018.

Jogging Track
Ballinakill GAA want to remind the whole community that the jogging track is available to use as a free and safe alternative to the dark roads at this time of year. Each lap of the main pitch is 500 metres. The track and ball wall (sponsored by Copper Face Jacks' Cathal Jackson and Dowling Quarries) is fully illuminated up to 21:30 every evening. Rules at main entrance gate.

Help Needed
The Club is always looking for good ideas, and people to drive good ideas! If you have any suggestions to improve on our facilities/fundraising capabilities etc please feel to contact 087-2355301 to discuss.

Sale of Work
We will be holding our annual sale of work this Sunday 4th February at 2pm in the GAA grounds in Ballaghmore. There will be loads of items for sale on the day including turf, timber and other items. Any donations for this sale of work would be most appreciated. Please spread the word on this.

Laois GAA Co Board Tickets
These €130 tickets are currently on sale and are a vital part of our fundraising endeavours for 2018. A percentage of all tickets sold stays within the club once we have passed our quota so we are appealing to all our members to support us in this draw. Tickets are available from any committee member or by contacting our treasurer Michael Quinlan.

Membership is currently due for 2018. Social members are very welcome. Membership can be paid to any committee member or by contacting our treasurer Michael Quinlan. It is imperative that all memberships are paid up front as insurance costs have escalated tremendously in the last year.

County Board Draw
Tickets are currently on sale for the 2018 Laois GAA All County Clubs Members Draw. We wish to thank everyone who supported it in 2017, your support for the County Draw enables us to provide & maintain facilities & equipment & also keep our registration fees at a lower level that other sports/activities.
The Annual Fund Raising initiative run by the Laois County Board, it is one of our Clubs primary revenue sources with Park/Ratheniska taking home close to 3/4's of the purchase price. However only tickets bought from the Park/Ratheniska GAA Club benefit the Park/Ratheniska GAA Club, so please make sure to buy your tickets from a GAA Club member.
These tickets remain our single most important fund-raiser for the club and members are urged to support this in every way possible, be it buying a full ticket, or perhaps sharing a ticket with some friends or family members.
We now have an payment plan which you can avail of should you so wish. More information on it can be found on the plan on our website,, but essentially you can roll your membership, club lotto and All County Clubs Members Draw into the one monthly payment of €18, spread out over 12 months, and save yourself €30.
Tickets are €130 each and can be sourced from any GAA Club member. And if you feel you can't purchase a full ticket, then half and quarter shares are also available, so please, do what you can! Thank you all once again for your continued support.
