This Sunday's GAA double header involving the Laois senior footballers and hurlers has been called off due to the severe weather, while the Laois Ladies game against Sligo has also been called off.
Laois footballers were due to play Antrim at 12.30pm, with the hurlers taking on Dublin at 2.30pm, but the entire Allianz NFL and NHL fixture programme for the weekend has been called off, the GAA confirmed this morning.
The Round 5 NHL games will take place on March 10 and 11 now, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final taking place on successive weekends from there on out.
The Round 5 fixtures for the NFL will also take place next weekend, March 10 and 11, however Laois are unlikely to be subjected to that change. They are due to play London in Ruislip on Sunday, March 11, and with hundreds of supporters already booked in for the trip, it is believed this game will go ahead as planned, with the clash with Antrim re-scheduled for a later date.
A fully revised fixture programme will be announced on Monday.
The Laois Ladies were to travel to Sligo on Sunday, looking to build on their win over Clare, but the LGFA confirmed earlier today that those games have now all been called off as well.
The Laois camogie game, which was scheduled for Saturday, is also called off, as are the Kelly Cup and Palmer Cup games.
