As excitement builds ahead of the Leinster GAA final with Dublin, Laois GAA has announced details of its annual golf classic and the county board hope the county's Hurling and Gaelic Football fans will come out to support.
All funds raised will go towards the development of Laois GAA teams and the new Laois Offaly Education and Training Board sponsored Laois GAA Centre of Excellence which is close to completion.
The event in Portarlington is sponsored by Colgan’s Sports and will include some great prizes. There will also be GUI and non-GUI categories so everyone can take part.

Laois inter-county hurlers and footballers will be in attendance and take part on the day.
Also there will be the 'hard working' Gaelic football strength and conditioning coach Robbie Cannon. Robbie is heavily involved in Golf Ireland and was Irish Amatuer Open Champion in 2013.
Time slots are limited to 45 teams and already half the slots are full. To book a team contact Liam Delaney on 0863566601.
There is also an opportunity to sponsor a Tee Bank or Green for €100, you can avail of this by contacting Chairman Peter O'Neill 0862586742, County Secretary Nial Handy at Laois Co Board office 05660674 or any member of the committee.
"This will be a great day for Golf and a great opportunity to socialize with all our County players," says Laois GAA Chairman Peter O'Neill.
