Eddie Brennan will be the next Laois senior hurling manager.
Eight time All-Ireland winner Eddie Brennan has been nominated as the next manager of the Laois senior hurling team, after he name was proposed to an executive meeting of the Laois County Board on Wednesday evening.
Brennan will replace Eamonn Kelly, who stepped down after two years at the helm, having failed to make an impression in the inaugural Joe McDonagh Cup. Brennan was the choice of a three-man selection committee, made up of Eamon Jackman (Ballinakill), Niall Rigney (Portlaoise) and Declan Conroy (Rosenallis), who were charged with identifying the man to revitalise Laois' fortunes at senior level.
Brennan won 11 Leinster SHC titles, eight All-Irelands and four All-Stars in a glittering playing careers before going on to manager Kilkenny's U-21 side, stepping down from that role last year.
