Laois senior hurlers rounded off a miserable league campaign with a fifth seccessive defeat, as an under-strength side offered little resistance to Wexford in this one-sided affair.
With the teams set to meet again in ten days time for the relegation playoff, Laois held a number of players in reserve for this encounter, and it showed. They were way off the pace here, as Wexford dominated possession and gave Laois little reason to cheer ahead of the re-match.
While the game will be written off as a non-event, it was nonetheless disappointing that Laois could not make a game of it. Having come close to picking up a first NFL win the week before against Antrim, any progress made with that performance was set back by an almost acceptance of defeat in this game.
