LAOIS GAA Treasurer Martin Byrne informed delegates at the July County Board Meeting that the county was tax compliant.
Mr Byrne stated that there had been a number of meetings with Revenue and the outcome was that the tax officials were happy with what the Laois County Board were doing.
He commented that Revenue were ‘after cash payments’ but noted that there would be more regulations.
Mr Byrne also said that due to Revenue requirements, all Cul Camp coaches must now be tax compliant adding that all personnel who receive payments from the County Board are in a similar situation.
The Treasurer noted how Revenue went through all payments to managers and how a list of people providing services to the County Board had also to be submitted.
Coaching Officer Peter O’Neill informed delegates that Revenue can also assess clubs and Secretary Niall Handy confirmed that two or three clubs in each county will be visited in the near future.
