Not even extra time could separate The Heath and Clonaslee St Manman’s last Tuesday night, as they must now meet again after a 3-7 to 0-16 stalemate on The Heath.
Clonaslee were making their first appearance of the year against last year’s JFC ‘C’ champions, and with Mark Rooney making his return from a nasty Achilles Tendon injury suffered last year, they belied their lack of game time this year to turn in a fine performance. With the game gone to extra time, The Heath lead by three coming towards the final whistle, but David Rosney to prove to be Clonaslee’s saviour as he goaled late on to bring the game to a replay.
Elsewhere in the JFC ‘B’, Colt continued their fine record in the competition with a hard fought three point win over Courtwood, 2-9 to 2-6. Arles-Killeen and Timahoe must also meet again after drwing 0-12 to 2-6, while Arles’ neighbours, Arles-Kilcruise, were beaten by The Harps.
Killeshin warmed up for what would be a victorious run at the ACFL Division 5 final with a ten point win over Emo in a high-scoring game, 4-16 to 3-9, while Crettyard accounted for Mountrath on a scoreline of 3-11 to 0-7.
