Gardaí investigating burglary of Laois pharmacy issue appeal

It's believed three men were involved in the burglary
Laois Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to the burglary of Durrow Pharmacy at the weekend.
Gardaí said the raiders forced the front door of Durrow Pharmacy on Mary Street at around 12.30am this morning before searching the premises.
It’s believed three males were involved in the burglary. They entered the building from the front door before exiting a short time later through the same door.
Gardaí said the males made off with two bags of items but they have yet to establish the full value of the items stolen during the burglary.
Manager of Durrow Pharmacy Sean McLoughlin said it’s the first time the pharmacy has been targeted by criminals. He said the alarm activated at around 12.40am and criminals were in the premises less than a minute.
Mr McLoughlin said there was no damage to the pharmacy. He said the burglars didn’t go near the till and he described the burglary as unusual. “We don’t hold cash on the premises,” he explained.
Durrow Pharmacy was back open at 9am on Monday morning and it was business and as usual, Mr McLoughlin said.
Gardaí at Abbeyleix Garda Station are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the burglary or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, or have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the burglary.
Anyone with information can contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
